Over 500 student athletes from across The 果冻传媒 have gathered at Mona Campus in Jamaica for the 2019 果冻传媒 Games. The 10 day biennial tradition of inter-campus competitive sports, camaraderie and fun kicked off on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

During the lively opening ceremony, the winners of the 2019 Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Sports Awards were also announced. Club netball captain, Vanessa Bobb of the Cave Hill Campus received the Sportswoman of the Year award, while Jordan Reynos, a national hockey player from the St. Augustine Campus was named Sportsman of the Year.

Charles Jr., the Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) led a High Level Panel on Tourism as the Driver of Sustainable Ocean Health and Ocean Wealth in the Uncut Conversations: Conversations on Climate Change Series put on by the Climate Change Division of the MEGJC on May 9, 2019, in which he underscored the importance of involving inter-sectorial communication and partnerships to prepare for and mitigate against the impacts of climate change.
